If you're looking for a boat tour in Puerto Vallarta, the first thing to know is where it leaves from. Each departure point has its own kind of boat and trip; here are the main ones.
Maritime Terminal and Puerto Mágico
Next to the cruise-ship pier, in the Marina Vallarta area, many catamaran and large-boat tours depart. It's easy to get there by taxi or Uber by asking for "Puerto Mágico" or "the Maritime Terminal". A port fee per person is paid at the terminal.
Marina Vallarta
It's the typical departure point for private yachts, sport fishing and sunset cruises.

Los Muertos Pier
In the Romantic Zone. Water taxis leave from here for Las Ánimas, Quimixto and Yelapa, and some tours also pick up passengers here.
Boca de Tomatlán
A village to the south, a short drive away, where small boats leave for the south-coast beaches. It's the shortest ride to those beaches.
How to choose your tour
Compare what each price includes (food, drinks, gear, fees), the duration, the beaches visited and the size of the boat. Book with established operators with recent reviews who give you a clear confirmation of departure time and place.
